Can you use FD points at AMS to ug on NW?

Hi folks

I am a mere Blue Wing (or whatever they csll the lowest of the low these days).

I am flying AMS-DTW on NW this coming Saturday.

I have more than enough points to UG although there was no availability to fo so in advance.

I have 2 hours between arrival in AMS from EDI and flying out on NW.

Is there any way of trying to use FD points on the day and how can I do this. I appreciate that some of you have tried doing such things in the FD Lounge but as a mere Blue Person I will have no lounge access.

Any thoughts?

To compliment things I am using by newly compted CO One Pass Gold card to collect points for this trip.

FD cardholders can upgrade at the day of departure at Schiphol, both in the Crown Lounges and at any NW/KL transfer desk, so it should be no problem, as long as there is space on the flight upfront.

Looks miserable on NW 39 and 67 with a chance on NW 53

28FEB SAT AMS DTW

13NW 39 J0 C0 Z0 Y9 B3 M3 H3 Q1 V1
AMSDTW 0800 1050 333 B/ 0

14NW 67 J0 C0 Z0 Y6 B6 M6 H6 Q0 V0
AMSDTW 1050 1340 333 D/ 0

15NW 53 J4 C4 Z0 Y9 B9 M8 H8 V1
AMSDTW 1425 1715 333 D/ 0

Not only that C is full, but any NW/KL transatlantic flight with V showing 0 is already overbooked or at least booked very very solid...

Many thanks

I suppose I should just be grateful to have a seat, lol.

Stephen, I would call KLM asap to ask how full the flights really are and to get the best available seat.

Based on my experience , as a rule of thumb, if V is 0 or closed, the bird is already packed...

If you are interested in a bump, why not ask for a seat in WBC in conjunction with the DBC voucher at Schiphol ?
You wrote that you are at Schiphol two hours prior to departure, so plenty of time to do the necassary steps !!

Don`t know on which flight you are, but if they reroute you via YYZ or YUL on the later KL flights, there should be plenty of space upfront...

I'm on NW67 out of AMS on 28/2 at 1050 connecting to LAX at DTW. I have a seat allocated (22A) by the system on booking.

I assume that, as I am a connecting passenger, I will be an unattractive bump option.

Do KLM/NW take bump volunteers in advance of the day of the flight?

KL 601 leaves Schiphol at 11.20 bound for LAX, flight looks wide open...

13KL 601 J6 C6 Z4 S7 B7 M7 H7 Q7 V7
AMSLAX 1120 1335 74E 0

Have been bumped when checking in, but normally the gate supervisor takes care of it at Schiphol...
