Interesting, thanks!

Avallon May 9, 2003 3:26 pm

I have received the same letter as Brenno, saying that KLM would be very flexible when determining status level come december 2003.

Does anyone have any idea what flexible actually means in this case?

Counsellor May 11, 2003 9:55 am

Hmmmm. Both of you (brenno and Avallon) are in the Netherlands. Perhaps this is targeted/valid only for "local folks"?

Avallon May 11, 2003 10:53 am

Who knows? Apparently the letter is sent out with the FD magazine and FD status report, so if any non-Dutchies have received these without the accompanying letter you might be right.

Whats truly annoying in a way tho is that I will hit SilverElite right on target and then I will probably stop flying for a while. So unless I get upgraded between now and then I won't benefit at all.

Avallon: That is always a problem I'm afraid. But I do get their problem. Today I returned from LHR. I somebody said (shouted) that there were plenty of seats on the KLM flight, while BA used a B757 (LHR-AMS) which was sold out until the last seat. One wonders how that can be....

Brenno, I was just having a whinge. It's not KLM's fault. (wish they hadn't changed their program tho')

But what are you implying, is BA's program better?

Counsellor May 13, 2003 12:50 am

Got my statement yesterday (here in Germany), and the accompanying cover letter includes the following paragraph:

More than ever, KLM is hoping to be able to rely on your loyalty. And for our part, we will be demonstrating our steadfast loyalty to you: when reviewing the Flying Dutchman membership levels for 2004, for example, we will be showing the utmost flexibility.

Well I wouldn't mind an upgrade to GoldElite. Just don't think it'll happen... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

I just requalified for Gold (top elite) on BA making a Concord trip! Gosh what a ride.
