The news that we've been expecting for some time now. |
it will now upgrade service on all former KLM uk flights Is this just a standard turn of phrase for press releases, or are there genuine service upgrades planned? |

Of course, the UK forum was initiated by KLM uk, so I assume that either CityHopper will 'take it over', or it will surely die a death.
|
This is indeed sad news - as an AirUK flyer for a long time before they got hooked by KLM, I am sorry to see the brand go.
I assume this means that the UK flight numbers will be toast also. Does this mean, do we think, the silly baggage rules that CityHopper have for carry on? |

According to the Holland Herald I was reading today, the KLMuk flights are now being referred to as KLM cityhopper uk. Is this an intermediate step, or will they remain a separate company?
If they got rid of the excellent planeside luggage check/collect they have at LCY, I'd be very disappointed. |

Your hand baggage will than be stored in the baggage compartment. However, on KLM cityhopper and KLM uk operated flights, Platinum Elite, Gold Elite and Silver Elite Flying Dutchman and WorldPerks members as well as Traxxer card holders will always be permitted to take one piece of hand luggage on board (max. 55 x 35 x 25 cm and 10 kg.). Re one piece of hand luggage
Since the EDI-AMS service still appears as a Fokker 100, I presume the above will not apply. I ask since I usually have my briefcase and a small bag carrying medications. ------------------ |

Even the G-INFO registry shows the running on the F100/F50 aircraft now to be KLM Cityhopper UK Ltd. Well hopefully we will get together some good info on here and maybe Lesley Lindberg will listen for once! Lee ------------------ KLM PE (former RW), ACA Standard, BAW Blue, Hilton Gold |

I was flying KLM UK (from MAN)last week, but got a phonecall in Feb to say that the flight numbers had been changed to Cityhopper flight numbers. However, all aircraft were still branded as KLM UK. Service was as normal as well, with usual bad sandwiches.

Sandwiches ex-LCY this morning were leagues above normal EU-KLM or old KLMuk... Everything in the airport and so on has changed over to Cityhopper - the planes just haven't been repainted yet. (I'm sure we can make a 'new name, same old Fokkers' joke here somewhere...)
