Priority Tags out of the UK
I'm flying NCL-AMS-DEL on Friday in C and would like to know exactly who to complain to that none of my bags will have a priority tag unless I collect them at AMS and recheck them because of this whole Cityhopper thing.
That's one perk I would rather keep, especially when flying to DEL. I have just one tag that survived from my last trip so I'm going to recycle it. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif Any other suggestions? |
It makes not one bit of difference in AMS or DEL or NCL whether it has a tag, flashing light or any other item to say this customer is elite. The baggage handlers cannot provide the service due to the sheer volume of bags they now handle. I was told this by one of the KLM groundstaff who kindly drove me between connecting flights when I broke my foot

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Why don't cityhopper tag your bags ? They always do mine at BRS if I'm in biz and also in economy although I usually have to ask.</font> I once had to tell Servsair at EDI what a SHOCON sticker was for. Frightening. Truly frightening. |
SCHOCON =
Schipol Can Handle Only Cases On Nonday Nuesday Nednesday Nursday Niday Naturday Nunday ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????? |
In my experience, the effectiveness of Priority tags is also largely dependent on destination airport; In the past 12 months, I have noticed Priority tagged bags come off first at:
Singapore Changi Kuala Lumpur Cape Town but not at: Bonaire Aruba Hong Kong [they seemed to have this system of removing everyone's bags from the baggage reclaim belt and placing them in a pile there, 'Priority tagged' or not] and certainly NOT at: Manchester [in fact we are usually grateful our bags arrive at all when we get home to Manchester!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif] ------------------ KLM FD PE, BMI Gold, AA Platinum, UA Premier, HHilton Silver |

My bags could be priority tagged and covered in strobe lights and they would still be the last ones onto the carousel at NCL! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |

I notice now that the KLM flight parks at the very end of the pier farthest away from the main building and that those cheeky chappies at Ryanair have pinched pole position.
I was bused 100 yards the other week at Newcastle ???? this took ages and all the bags were on the carousel when I got there |
I fly NCL - AMS - LAX several times a year and although it is usually in Y, I smile sweetly at Check-in and ask if they would do me a favour and attach a Priority tag to my luggage even though on this occasion I will be travelling economy. I then explain that in the last 5 trips my luggage had been lost twice and I believe a tag will help prevent a repeat. Worked every time so far, luggage has only actually gone astray once in the last 12 trips!
