Expiration ??

Just how does KLM treat accounts with rare flight activity?

On the one hand (from the FD Guide):

"Award points do not expire. If a member has not made any transactions for a period longer than 36 months, KLM reserves the right to unilaterally terminate the membership."

On the other hand:

"If an FD BlueWing member accumulates at least 500 points or 1 one-way flight during a year, member will requalify as FD BlueWing."

So, if I don't fly at all in a year my membership will not be renewed but my points will not expire??? Is there a membership level lower than BlueWing or what happens? (or is this just another case of not super-thought-through rules)

Hi,

here is my experience with KLM:

- award mile never expire
- I flew in 1998 / 2000 / 2001 (more than 18 months in between) and no problems occured.

In general I'd say, that even if FD is not having such great deals as Miles&More the service on the phone (do not try to use the online booking tool!) is friendely, experienced and helpful!

Cheers
Marc
