Kurz, great work. Since there isn't an e-mail in your profile, would you mind dropping me an e-mail privately?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot kurz. It is very helpful. I had a couple of questions:

1) If you buy a discount fare (say V or L Vs full Y) does it make any difference in the points that one earns?

2) Can one earn miles for consolidator tickets as well?

3) If I am a Europe 1 Resident, do I earn 5,050 (450 (Zone E) + 2,250 (Zone R) + 2,350 (Zone M)) FD miles for a RDU - DTW - AMS - DEL one way routing?

Thanks,

Sandeep.

1) All discounted tickets (Q-class, M-class etc.) get service points in Y. In case KL has a promotion and applies a bonus you also get the extra points in Y. Bonus points are always award points not service points.

2) You can consolidate any series of segments. What counts is that you fly KL or one of its partners (NW, UK, XT, AS, BU, JD, KQ, LP, HV, MH, 9W). NW flights operated by other carriers than KL do not qualify for points accumulation.

3) Check table Europe-1. Yes.

I think you misunderstood Sandeep's question. Sandeep: it depends on the fare basis. Be very carefull to check because there are definitely a few fare classes (that consolidators book tickets in) that do not qualify for ff points

Does this mean two RT to Kuala Lumpur from London will get me more than the 12,000 points needed for Goldwing?

Kurz, Thanks for your answers. anandrag thanks for the clarification. Consolidator tickets to India on KL/NW metal seem to accrue miles on NW. Is FD different?

Thanks,

Sandeep.
