klm
Hello,
I'm new to this forum (or any other for that mather). klm is my carrier and although there is a strong bondage this company drives me up the tree. From one of the best companies it has decreased to pretty mediocre carrier, in my opinion. Is this opinion shared by other members of this bulletin board? And what can you do to get the attention one should expect as a ff? I thought that maybe collecting other ff opinions combined would make a stronger point at this arrogant airlines customer relations desk. I don't want to bang my fist first on the counter to be noticed! ------------------ piechem |
In a nutshell (and I still do lke KLM), YES!
It surely has declined somwhat in the last 5-10 years! |
My view on KLM is that they have managed to turn into a 'discount airline'.
They recent strategy has been to persue 100% occupancy at any cost. The cabins are now rarely less than 80% full, but the service is very poor and KLM seem to accept that as the price you pay for offering heavily discounted fares. As for the Flying Dutchman, the service has to be one of the worst available. It is as simple as that. You pay for what you get! Nick |
Now why did you sugar coat that Merry? http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

What a merry treat to see Nick back on line! http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I work at InsideFlyer and have received complaints from customers. Their customer service is unreachable and unresponsive. You are not the only one who shares this opinion.

Sorry PremEx, I'm more in line with Merry here on this one. There is worse for sure, including their code share partner. I'd prefer to be more charitable and say they have become less reliable and more erratic! Again, I feel the front line people are at least trying, which counts for something and should help keep them out of the cellar.

I fly KLM twice a month, but only since 1997, so I can't comment on any "changes". However, I have found the cabin service to be more professional though less friendly than American lines, the cabins are cleaner. When making changes to my ticket by phone from Germany, (calls go to the Dutch service center) I was given the service person's direct line number and name, and was also able to switch from phone to fax when that became more convenient.

As a RW cardholder of about 5 years standing, KLM has gone ddownhill to the extent that I am only sticking with them until CO joins their fledgling alliance, and then switching !

I must agree... 10 to 15 years ago I flew KLM quite often from the Middle East to the US.. and I must say, it was a treat (then), the airline was our favorite and no matter which class you flew in, it actually had "Class"... I was shocked at the changes after not having had flown with them for 10 years... ...and I miss KLM's old Royal Class... *sigh*
