Schedule Change Notification... or lack of

I just checked a reservation I have with KLM. One of my flights has changed from a 14.30 dep. to 12.30 dep. Adding two hours onto an already long itinerary.

I was not notified by e-mail. Last year a similiar thing happened with a Delta reservation, although the dep. time only changed by 10min and they contacted me to let me know.

I find this particularly annoying because I payed extra to leave as late as a i possibly could. Grrrr....

Was the reservation made directly with KLM? If not I believe it is the TA that should notify you.

I book through a TA, and therefore know that KL advises them automatically of all schedule changes, even if the time changes by only a few minutes. Notifying those who book direct seem to be a far greater challenge.

Exactly Johan, I should have just booked through Expedia like usual, but I went through KLM.com so I could see the fare code.

It just annoys me because I selected that flight so I could attend the whole of a conference I am attending that weekend. Now I will miss most of the last days' proceedings.

Should I phone and ask if there is still a later flight? Or will the just charge me £25? As far as I was aware the flight I had selected KL6678 was the last one out of SLC that day.
