Redeem Miles within Europe

Has anybody already seen the redemption table within Europe. As Dutch living in UK I would be very pleased to see my rewards from LHR to AMS become much cheaper than 25k. (Of course at the cost of Athens becoming more expensive)

As you could see they had divided Europe into three in the worldwide redemption chart. Thatīs probably bad for people like me in the periphery. Well, that only means that Iīll have to only use intercontinental awards. Intra-european awards are not very useful as it is now, because of the ridiculous "taxes".

See my post on awards and taxes it says it all

Even if they reduce awards drastically, I just cannot imagine that AMS-LHR would ever constitute a cost-effective use of miles. With BD, KL and BA all flying the route, fares are often very low. All 3 currently offer fares starting at 23/37GBP return + tax. It seems to me that you would get a much higher return on value by using your miles on long-haul business tickets.

You will be surpised how expensive LHR - AMS returns sometimes get if you want to book only a week or so in advance and / or want to travel Fri and Sun evenings.

You probably won't be surprised to learn that award availability is close to zilch if you want to book only a week or so in advance and / or want to travel Fri and Sun evenings.

Indeed, it is pretty unusual to have no availability in the low fare classes and plenty of availability in the award classes.
