Big Cheese
I thought this might be fun to thread. How many miles would it take do you think to put you into the top ten KLM mileage holders? I know a few 1mm plus but I'm certain they are still small fry. Anyone got any ideas. Anyone know anyone to have gone past 10 mm? Anyone want to claim the crown?

Considering that KLM used to have a point based system, which was not very generous, I seriously doubt that there are many multi million mile accounts out there just from flying KLM, not from the comping of status and miles a couple of years ago certainly :D
IIRC flying AMS-SFO in C back then got you 5500 FD points, so even with the conversion rate of 1.83 to 1, one had to fly and save more than 500.000 FD points to mave a million miles after the conversion, IMO a very rare example of a real frequent flyer... |

700 was the single-class rate for the single-class flight (it was listed as Y - as opposed to M for Economy in two-class flights). But as LHR-AMS (the only two-class route from the UK) was worth 350 in M you could say that 700 equates to the Business Class rate.
I guess it's no wonder you hear so many British accents in the Crown Lounges - it used to be so easy for us to reach the old Royalwing, with all bar one route being worth a minimum of 700 points (some were worth 1100) |
