Earning miles on heavily discounted MH fares
I've booked a ticket to Asia in MH's F class at a heavy discount. I don't have my hands on the tickets yet, but I believe that they're booked in A class.
Someone has told me that the special fare doesn't qualify for mileage accrual, but assuming it's in A class, could they then differeniate by fare basis?
The discount does make this marginally irrelevant but since it's worth almost 40,000 points, I would be interested to know the answer...

You can earn and spend Miles on all scheduled flights operated by Malaysia Airlines, except between Tawau and Tarakan. You cannot earn Miles on any of the domestic flights in Malaysia or on any domestic flight in Australia.
Flights booked in booking classes L, V, G or X do not qualify for any FD program benefits
Guilty of quoting from the KLM website

Ah, but this insight is also on the KLM website...
You've gotta love that last one (I added the bolding...)
Ticket types not eligible for mileage accumulation
You cannot earn Miles on the following types of fare:
Award travel tickets (class W)
Travel industry reduced rates
Free or non-revenue tickets
Military or government tickets
Tickets partially or fully paid for using Air Miles (class G)
Other fares that are from time to time declared by KLM to be ineligible for mileage accumulation. You will be notified of these fares when they become applicable.

I recently flew on a MH First "A" ticket and did get full mileage credit. It takes about 3 weeks to show up on your KLM account but it seemingly always does. Enjoy your MH flights!

MileTex Thanks for that - did you fly long haul? If so, any comments on the product?
Certainly looking forward to the trip (LHR-KUL-HAN)!

LAX - KUL was nice. Seats still need improving. Cabin staff were very attentive. KUL - AMS was over the top. I was the only one in F and now I know how it feels to be treated like a king Staff again were extremely pleasant and the thank you note I wrote to the company while still onboard the plane elicited a nice departing gift from the crew Ask for two of the purple duvets and use one to sleep on. Really seems to help with their non-flat seats.

Have done four x KUL-AMS on MH First this year in 747s and it really is regal.
Filet mignon caved by 3 staff at your seat. 1995 Dom Perignon. Caviar. The works. All staff at all times, knew our surname and used it.
Shame about the seats.
And the F lounge in KUL is superb. Little motel type rooms you can go lay down and sleep in.

You had to take the LHR-KUL flight that stopped off at LGK or PEN (and you could break the journey there for free if you wanted). So could only leave London on a Sat Sun Tue or Wed. Same days for return flights too.
Minimum stay was 10 days
The flight to KUL in F was under £2000
To anywhere else in SE Asia came in at £2150
Then to Aus & NZ was around £2400
They seem to have more frequent promotions out of LAX, but being UK based I don't have any further details.

Is that correct ?
I have a CDG-KUL-REP round-trip flight coming up (L fare), for which I would like to at least get some of the 14,500 flown miles in economy.

Quick question: my family and I have booked an award return AMS-KUL on MH C-class. The fare stated on the ticket is "I".
Is it not weird that the fare class differs from the "normal" "W"?

I do however find the wording on the KLM website slightly misleading.
