Even back at home they are not stingy at all, if I travel for over a week there are not that many clothes left at home, I already found myself back at home with a lengthy delay of luggage having to buy clothes and toiletries, no issues whatsoever getting reimbursed by KLM.

Thanks to both of you :) Turns out that the bag was indeed on that flight, but somehow they lost it within ZRH and only found it late in the evening. They emailed me at 22:02 as I was just approaching the airport to pick up my buddy, but their airside office closes at 22:00, lol. At least I got cover for those overnight clothes I purchased by that point and I can go back to saying that I have a 100% success rate with checked bags 😀
Bit of an unnecessary stress (and 60€ cost to KLM) but otherwise all is fine :) |

The luck is not on my side, another bag got delayed under uncertain circumstances. I just wanted to check, do I always make reimbursement claim with the last airline in the process? E.g. in this case I connected from AF to AZ at FCO (and that's likely where the bag is, since AF tracking shows it at loaded to FCO) - is AZ responsible for the reimbursement? Or the airline I checked the bag with (AF)?

Yes, you should usually make the claim with the last airline.

Wonder if there was an issue at FCO yesterday or just par for the course? I did the reverse of the810, AZ to FCO then AF to CDG to MAN. Bag stayed in FCO and as I was filling in the PIR at MAN someone else was there reporting a bag similarly stuck at FCO. No movement 24 hours later...

Mine got updated to "item found" in the afternoon following the original flight and was forwarded on the next flight, i.e. 24 hours later. It's supposedly in Tirana now, with delivery initiated so I expect a relatively happy ending :) |

I was wondering whether this may be related to AFKL and AZ systems not talking to each other properly? But still, my transfer was four hours long so I'd expect someone to find the bag not going anywhere in time to catch the original flight.
