Adding on infant to existing booking

Hi guys,

Anyone has any experience regarding adding on infant to existing ticket?

My preganat wife flew from UK to KUL with KLM in the beginning of July, she will give birth to our second son in the end of Aug then we will fly back to UK in the end of Sept with our newborn. The ticket was booked via third party.

Will there be any problem to add on infant?

As it's a third-party booking, you'll have to contact the agency that issued the ticket to request that they do this....airlines will never deal with a ticket sold by an agent, because it's not "their" ticket to deal with. This ticket and this procedure may have been easier to manage if you bought it directly from the airline and could thus deal directly with the airline.

Please keep us advised of your experiences, and good luck with the new baby!!!

Are you sure the airline will let your wife fly long-haul in july so late in the pregnancy ?

She has already taken her 1st leg of flight in the beginning of July. The return journey with our newborn will be in the end of September.

If this was bought directly via klm, would they allow adding on infant to this 'partially flown' ticket?

Yes, KLM have no problems adding infants to partially flown tickets. Give them a call after birth and they'll help you out.
