Seat selection
 

Hi, this is going to be my first flight with KLM, from Buenos Aires to Amsterdam.

My status in SkyTeam allows me to choose my seat in advance for free, but not for my travel companion. I haven't selected any seat yet. So my questions are:

1) Am I going to be able to select both seats for free during check-in or will they be randomly assigned?
2) If they will be randomly assigned during check in, should I choose mine for free before the check-in period, and then my travel companion will be assigned the seat next to me?

I believe that if both are in the same PNR then you can select both seats together. Separate tickets and it becomes a little more complicated.

My experience is that if you have seat selection privileges, you'll be able to also choose on behalf of your travelling companion assuming they're on the same PNR.
