Industrial action at Schiphol - 25 September
Anyone else travelling tomorrow and just spotted this message on the app/website?

We understand that this may cause challenges for you as a passenger, and we want to assure you that well do what we can to minimize the inconvenience. In case of disruptions, we will do our utmost to ensure that all passengers, baggage, and cargo reach their correct destinations as quickly as possible.
Despite my username I've not travelled on KL for many years. I used to travel with them regularly when I worked as ground staff in the UK. Anyone have any experience of being caught up in this sort of work stoppage in recent years and any idea what disruption is like later in the day? I'm flying out from EDI to AMS tomorrow afternoon. The inbound aircraft is due to depart AMS at 12:10 so is clearly going to be delayed as presumably there will be no boarding of flights between 11:00 and 12:00. Fortunately, I'm only going to AMS so no connecting flight to worry about. I was intending to check-in my bag but now wondering if I should pivot to cabin baggage if delays in claiming bags at Schiphol are likely.
Any advice most welcome.

I've not come across this kind of 1 hour work stoppage before, disruptions tend to be longer.
I'm arriving tomorrow before the stoppage and departing at 1230. Like you I expect the departure to be delayed, but I have no experience to base a projection of the severity on.

Have just seen this myself. Due to arrive from GLA at 11:50 tomorrow. Not that bothered if there is a bit of a delay. It will eat into my 8 hour transfer! Am expecting some sort of delay anyway as it’s forecast to be a bit gusty tomorrow morning in the west of Scotland.

Yikes, 8 hours is a long transfer. Ive a 4 hour transfer coming up next month and thought that was long but Im happy with as cant stand the stress and rushing of short transfers.
Likewise, Im in no hurry and bit longer in the lounge isnt an issue. Just hope theres not mass disruption impacting lots of people on short connections.
Safe travels.

I booked a bit longer connection to get some quiet time to finish some paperwork, seems like a good choice for today. Just hoping it doesnt turn into a very extended stay in the lounge
So far only two cancellations posted in the affected hour - U2 to STN and KL to IST. Well see how the day progresses.

Indeed it's business as usual here at Schiphol, except shockingly the escalators up the upper D pier and lounge 25 are both working!
Feel bad for IST-bound travellers, if indeed that cancellation was in fact a casualty of this non-action.

It did say on the app that it wasn't possible to reinstate flights cancelled due to the planned action so looks as both IST and ATH flights took the hit on that one.
