WiFi - switch devices

On a flight right now. Purchased Surf full flight plan on a Mac. Trying to switch to iPhone. Based on the following article, I should be able to.

https://www.klm.com/information/lega...other%20Device.

Turned off WiFi on Mac. Can't activate on iPhone.

Is there a trick to this?

No experience myself but you'd probably need to login/activate through something that was linked to the subscription on the first device. If you didn't identify yourself in some way on the first device then there would be nothing to base the access on at the second device.

You need to use the code of your purchased wifi pass on the 2nd device. Of course the use on the 1st device will be deactivated. I did it several times with AF without issues.

You'd be able to get the voucher code on the connect portal. I think logging in after the fact with FB account or PNR+name should also do the trick.

I can confirm this works, have done it numerous times myself.

Not sure why, but it just wouldn’t work.

LAX to AMS on 787-10.

Tried from hour four to hour nine.

My iPhone was logged in, the voucher was prefilled, but just kept on getting a message regarding “error trying to activate”.

Going back to Mac, would continue to activate.

I mean, given the fact it's probably AFKL's IT who worked on this thing... I'm not surprised. I couldn't even buy one the last time on an AF flight as the payment gateway kept giving me a 50X code. Free passes did work, though.

Better luck next time 😊

My flight back to LAX is via Air France on a 777. We’ll see how different the experience will be.

Probably not that different, as it's the same IT system with a different logo slapped on it. It can go either ones of these ways (out of personal experience):

- Wifi does not work (can buy voucher, but no connection)
- Wifi works, but payments don't work, so only free pass activation
- Wifi works, payment works, but can't move voucher device to device
- Wifi works, doesn't work, works, doesn't work... pretty much the whole flight.
- Wifi network not visible at all during flight. Announced that due to a technical problem it's switched off
- Wifi not installed on the aircraft (this probably doesn't apply on the 777, I'm not 100% sure if every single one of them has been retrofitted with wifi or not)
- Wifi works just fine, no issues to report

I wonder if it's necessary (or indeed possible) to log out via connect.klm.com on the device before activating the same voucher on the other device.
