Hi. Without any info from your side: the minimum connecting time at Schiphol for Schengen flights is 40 minutes, for non Schengen flights 50 minutes.So the transfertime you have, 55 minutes, seems legal.
I am guessing you have a KLM ticket? If the flights are on the same ticket and your arrival flight is delayed, KLM will rebook you. If they rebook you to the next flight depends... the next flight may be fully booked already, but they do have the obligation to fly you to your final destination

The mess is landside to airside. If you have a Schengen-Schengen or NS-NS connection you even don't have to pass passport control so then things with connecting flights usually are fine. Passport control NS-S in reverse seems much more manageable as security between landside-airside where non prio guests may face hours or queues.
