What's the situation like now for transfer pax who need to move between schengen and non-schengen? Obviously passport control, but is there security too? In both directions? I seem to remember pre-covid that there was security to schengen but not vice versa (which makes sense). And what are queues like nowadays? Thanks.

From S to NS, just passport check no security.

For the state of the queue check the post immediately above yours, among others.

There are so many delayed flights today that 3/4 of the departure board in lounge 26 is occupied by flights with departure times in the past. In fact you cannot see more than 25mns in the future from there (there is still a wider board deeper in the lounge where you can see more, thankfully).

So far my flight seems to be one of the very few that's not delayed 🤞
I would have asked to be rebooked on the 14h00 to Paris if I had known it would depart at 16h30 🤣

Based on what I am reading today is it possible that things have even gotten worse?? What is going to happen when the summer crush hits next month??

To conclude my daily Schiphol antics, whilst I was lucky enough to be in one of the few planes that wasn't delayed on boarding... we did indeed leave with 45mns delay.

The writing on the wall was visible from my window, as a sturdy champ with a ponytail was painstakingly loading 5 cartloads full of luggage one by one, starting half way through boarding. Massive respect for the guy but we missed our departure slot hence the 45mns delay.

Silver linings: my flight from CDG is delayed too so Im at least enjoying some champagne in the 2K lounge. And maybe, just maybe, my luggage will make it through this time (I did witness it being loaded by dude with ponytail!)

I had bad luck today - noted that the E190 that would pick me up as the last KL flight today from Oslo left Poznan some 1.5-2 hours late for AMS. And apparently the only way for KL to solve this was to skip the AMS-OSL-AMS leg for that plane. I rebooked immediately via the app to the 11:50 OSL-AMS flight tomorrow (I don't want to think how long people have to wait for their new travel without status or being quick). The *relative* advantage is that I can stay airside upon arrival to pick up my next flight in the late afternoon to CDG....but miss a key morning meeting at work and can't pick up clean clothes at home.

I still have a London thing next week but think calling air travel a day for some time afterwards. Absolutely no fun to have this twice in just over a week even though you become a bit savvier over time in handling the disruptions.

On Sunday July 17 I hope to fly to VNO on Air Baltic. Air Baltic is not a SkyTeam member.
I’m currently booked in Economy. If I upgrade to Business Class will I be allowed to use the priority line at security?
Thanks in advance for any replies!
Im not quite sure what alliance air baltic belongs to but *A and 1W can use SP lanes. If it's neither better enquire directly with airline.

Today must have been a bad day. A friend arrived around 15.30 and took her 2h30 to get through (no priority). Not sure if many of these delays were caused by many missing pax.

Air Baltic is independent, they do codeshare though with KLM on their AMS flights.
At the end of day the question is, does BT order this service with Schiphol.

S>NS no security check
NS>S no security check for arrivals from safe countries, mainly USA, UK, Canada.
Otherwise transfer security. There have not been any reports on that topic lately, whether good or bad.

Thanks for your reply. I tried to enquire with the airline, but they answered me by giving a copy/paste standard answer about priority check in, even though I specifically asked about priority at security. I’ve rephrased my question but haven’t heard back yet.

Thanks for your reply. I will try asking the airline again to see if they order this service from AMS.

Best to check with the airline but the info on their website about ticket types (https://www.airbaltic.com/en/airbaltic-ticket-types) only mentions fast track in Riga. And their page about frequent flyer levels only mentions fast track security in Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn (https://www.airbaltic.com/en/airbalt...evels-benefits).
If your boarding pass states business class you might try to get into the priority lane and get lucky if entrance is governed by a person (as the signs for priority to gates state: ‘Privium members. SkyPriority, First & Business, Selected Frequent Flyers’)

Update:
When trying to book a one way AMS-VNO, on the ‘Choose your fare’ page it does state ‘Access to Fast track’ as one of the benefits of business fare.

Thanks for your help. This is exactly what I find so confusing. The Air Baltic website isn’t clear on whether fast track is always available or only at the airport in the Baltic countries. And then there are the signs at AMS that say that First and Business Class passengers can use the priority lane. I used these lanes before, but only for KLM flights with SkyPriority.
I’ll wait to see what AirBaltic says.
