KL1778 delayed for 1,5 hours. Definetely going to miss my connection to BCN.
I am stiing in the airplane now waiting pushback already for 30 mins. Will the rebook me to the next flight to BCN automatically or do I need to go to a transfer desk at AMS?
Any chance to get compensation from this mess?

No comp for weather delays, only right to care

I've seen reports over in the SAS forum that it is frequently unexpectedly closed - like this report from about 3 weeks ago. The same poster reported it closed again the following week in that thread: SAS Lounge Options Amsterdam (AMS)

Don't suppose anyone's heard anything more about RTP-NL and thus the ability for non-EU folks to join Privium...? I'm in the trial for RTP-NL, but since it's invisible to the traveller I haven't actually heard anything about it since I enrolled last year.

Is there really any practical benefit at all to Privium for people who only transfer at Schiphol, say 10 trips per year? I should manage to just about scrape FB Gold for 2024 so thats lounges sorted... and the Privium Lane at passport control I don't think is worth it for the cost. Any opinions?

Is it worth the money? For me it is.

Privium lounges, especially the NS one, blow KLM out the water with especially the food but also beverage offer. They are also usually less busy relative to size.
The priority passport control can save a lot of time in lines, even EU line, especially when biometric machines are not in place. If you are only transfering NS to NS or especially within Schengen the benefit is diminished, but I still recommend to at least consider it. I can't imaigne my life without it, of course I am a local so...
It's also useful in RTM and EIN for those times I fly LCC.

I wish there is some way for non-EU to apply for Privium, it will reduce a lot of stress for my connections through AMS, especially the ones going in/out of Schengen.

The trial was offered to existing Privium members from non-EU nationalities, I believe - which predominantly[/exclusively?] means Brits who've had Privium predating 2020 and were allowed to keep it when our country did that Stupid Thing... The trial is entirely "their" side - testing the computer systems etc I think - and makes no difference to the traveller yet [i.e. I still have to see the KM person in the booth and show my resident's card to avoid getting stamped]. As I understand it, when it goes live it should be widely available [maybe certain nationalities, much like Global Entry] and completing RTP-NL would allow one to apply for Privium. Since my wife is American, I'm keen to get her enrolled as soon as it's possible to do so but as I said I've heard nothing since I enrolled Autumn last year...

Considering a reasonably priced EU-AMS-Asia trip on with a 70 minute Schengen-Intl connection. I've been avoiding AMS for the past couple years due to the frequent reports about long lines, so no idea if this is doable. Pre-Covid I wouldn't have been worried about it. Any thoughts whether this is too risky (December 28th at 4pm, EU citizens, Business class).

Agree. You arrive airside and only have to pass immigration to non-Schengen, not security. Even during the horrors of 2022 the main issue was the security check on hand luggage for pax entering the airport for their initial flight that was falling apart, transfer pax had much less issues. And of course, if things go wrong due to delays of the feeder you are protected since on one ticket.
