The union has a threated to take industrial action this summer unless Schiphol accedes to its demands. These include:

- the airport must employ sufficient staff to perform all work required.
- security checkpoint employees must be guaranteed 10 consecutive days off during the summer vacation period.

Travelling to FCO on Saturday on AZ, I received an e-mail wherein they recommend arriving 4 hours before the flight.

No line at Privium/SkyPriority today. Some non-priority gates sneakily opened above check-in 2 (I think). Didn't observe the normal line at check-in 1. Transit passport control not inundated either.

Expectation for this weekend is that some Corendon & TUI flights are being transfered to other Dutch airports

These unwelcome guests not only have to "clear customs twice" between flights, but their bags have to be transferred from one plane to the other! And then again when they fly back! This not only costs the airport money, but somehow also burdens Dutch taxpayers.

Interesting that transfer pax clear customs twice;
you can bet that they've done careful research to support this claim
aswell as experienced live in person!

I think that quote was taken from the SchipholWatch website.

Wonderful site. Thanks for the link.

"Burgers voor een gezonde leefomgeving en dus voor krimp van Schiphol"

Uh . . . Schiphol has been there since 1916, so any of those whingers who settled in the airport's vicinity at a later date voluntarily opted for a ongezonde leefomgeving. Nothing to stop them for now opting for a gezonde one elsewhere.

Imagine living in the Randstad, booking a package holiday with your family, and driving 2+ hours for a 6AM flight.

DeninDK May 6, 22 5:07 am

Just another data point. Flew out yesterday AMS-CPH and there was zero line at SkyPrioirity and also Zero line at regular security.. has the storm passed, or was I lucky?

MartiniGomez May 6, 22 5:28 am

Arriving at 06.15 from BKK tomorrow morning. Connecting flight to ARN much later, so will leave SPL first. Is passing customs to Schengen first and then heading for Schengen exit, likely a better option than straight to non-Schengen exit? I'm afraid to be one of those annoying transit passengers causing all these problems at SPL:D. I promise Schiphol management to leave their airport asap and take my car for our summer holiday. Travelling HBO, Sky prio, but no Priority Pass.
