I don't think this has anything to do with KLM's "shape". InsideFlyer quotes a KLM source as saying that the Aarhus service simply wasn't profitable - and if one of the comments on the article is to be believed the load factor was extremely low - hardly a good sign that it will be coming back for Winter 2023/4

Few things in airtravel are "permanent" - but when both routes were announced only a few months ago, they were certainly not billed as being intended as just winter seasonal services. As such, you can assume that these routes won't be coming back in the foreseeable future.

Especially at the beginning of a route, when you are as an airline essentially trying to buy marketshare and recognition.
Still it makes them good candidates for cutting capacity when externally mandated...

It would appear that Aarhus' loss is Aalborg's gain. This helpful KLM staff member has been deployed at Aarhus airport to advertise increased frequencies from Aalborg, of up to 4 rotations per day, in the summer season.
And indeed, Thursday March 30 appears to be the first day with 4 KLM services to/from Aalborg. Up until the switchover to the new timetable, it's variously 1, 2 or 3 daily services; going forward into the Summer 2023 timetable 4 services are scheduled (though one of the four is shown as "cancelled" on many of those days; the full schedule of 4 is not operated again until Friday 7 April, and then again on Saturday 15 April...)

KLM doubling the number of flights to Asia
As of Sunday March 26 (IATA Summer timetable), KLM will be operating with higher frequency to China and other Asian destinations. The number of flights to Asia will be double that of 2022.
Both Beijing and Shanghai will be served daily (currently 6 per week)
Tokyo will be served with more flights
The 3 weekly flights to Hong Kong will no longer be required to make an intermediate stop.
In Europe, Nantes goes 3 times daily.
Looking west, Toronto increases from 10 to 13 per week, and Curaçao will have 10 weekly flights in July and August; outside of the high season Curaçao will be served with a single daily flight.
