KLM temporarily banned from Hong Kong
KLM has been banned flying into Hong Kong for two weeks:

Apparently the AMS groud staff failed to properly check pax documentation for entering HK.
As AF has suspended its flight to HKG, no real options for ST members.

I should have been clearer, I meant from Europe.
Chinese airlines won't do transit in China. Others do not fly to Europe anymore. KE seems the only option.

Thanks for sharing. With such rules, described in the linked article, you wonder which airline will not be banned in the coming days. Could CX be banned from serving HKG too ?

me i do
They can rebook you on SU (however the opposite rarely happens) or other airlines like LH . But the main issue here is that this ban will last for two weeks and it probably means lot of pax to rebook , curious to see how they will handle this

Another sad story for KLM: a flight attendant has been arrested in Singapore for leaving his hotel room during the layover.

And now BA is also banned

I fear it will create a lot of troubles. Many European expats in HKG had flights to return in their home country for the Christmas/NY holidays. With so many airlines banned (KL, EK, QR, BA...and likely more to come), it will create a big mess.

KLM resumes passengers flights TO HKG from dec 17th onwards. Return flights , HKG AMS, via bkk, are NOT affected.
For X mas NY traffic it seems KLM can just in time resume passenger operations, though expect more traffic from HKG these days.
Lets not forget cargo is likely to be full and making lots of money

KL ban to take pax to Hong Kong 2-weeks
KLM has been banned from transporting pax to HKG for 2 weeks (until 1 May).
This was triggered by KL 819 on 12 April transporting 2 pax with improperly filled health documents (plus 1 infected pax detected at HKG).
The HKG-AMS flight is not affected.
As AF does not fly to HKG anymore and reroute its pax on KL, it also affects AF pax.

I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often - these numbers are much lower than I expected. As for the person testing positive, that can easily just be bad luck due to the 2-3 days between tests (in NL and in HKG presumably).
