Not so many airlines have implemented this, and you can expect most of them to reverse this decision sooner rather than later as we all know this model is not sustainable.

Sure, but how many airlines have blocked all aisle seats to protect the crew in preference to their paying customers? Only one. And how sustainable is that?

where can I check if klm will flya to lax on June 17th. I was on that flight several months ago, then couple of weeks ago, it got canned, And I was rerouted ams to ATL to lax. Now, I see it back. It was in business class. Should I assume it's operating, and request I out back on direct flight. Also, is KLM catering worse in covid times in J compared to Delta. Did anyone take this route recently
Thanks

July schedule has been updated. Flights to Jakarta, Denpasar, Washington, San Francisco, Vancouver & Calgary are planned to resume.

Based on what I could find in the GDS:
AMS-SFO 3x weekly 78J
AMS-IAD 2x weekly 772
AMS-YVR 3x weekly 78J
AMS-YYC 2x weekly 772

KLC expects to operate full schedule W20

KLC has just discovered that it will run short of FAs. The airline is planning to run a full schedule in W20, as well as taking delivery of larger Embraer RJs. Not long ago they laid-off all new FAs still on probation, stopped all hiring, and terminated all training courses in progress. Now they estimate they will need an additional 137 FTEs after the summer. They signed a deal with the unions promising to rehire those laid-off or whose training courses were cut short to fill any vacancies opening up before October, but now management has decided they would instead prefer to hire KL FAs, who are expected to be made redundant in large numbers soon. The unions are having none of it, negotiations have broken down.

I was already booked IAD-AMS in July and miraculously it was on one of the days they plan to operate the flight. So nothing has been cancelled yet, but I'm wondering if they might further prune the schedule depending on the then-current state of US and EU entry restrictions in July. Just don't know how safe it is to rely on KLM's current July schedule or do they have a history of cancelling flights last minute like certain other airlines?

"History" is a poor indicator of what to expect in these exceptional times.

But at least IAD is one of the airports allowed to receive flights from Europe, so it may indeed happen regardless of any easing on the "entry ban".

As such, if they currently plan to recommence service to IAD in little under a month under current circumstances, I think it's probably unlikely they will change their mind on that point again in the short term.
