So..the new meal service has been in place for a few days. Anybody got to try it yet long haul and/or intra-europe?

Flew one of the first A350 flights from AMS to ATL and C catering was average at best. KL isn't that great either, but I do rate them higher. For instance for the ability to get a soup option and the snacks.
Food can be a bit subjective, but I've never rated DL in that department either.

Delta has been operating ATL with A330-300, before sometime s occasionally a 772 was thrown in. The A350 is doing her job on DTW-AMS instead.

Flew AMS-YYZ Economy last week - no hot meal, only bag of snacks containing can of coke, bottle of water, two tangerines, 2 tiny bags of some sort of corn chips, two stroopwafels, two sticks of biscuits and some sweets. Even though I had a sandwich at the non-Schengen lounge before departure, I was still very hungry by the end of the flight. Bag of snacks on an ~8hr longhaul is torture 😭 I hope KLM bring back hot meals soon.

KLM did serve from the cart this morning on AMS-CDG. The little snack and coffee or tea. The cart was not loaded with any other beverage.

It was similar for me this morning on another European flight with KLM, but with a larger beverage service (juice, water, etc., didn't ask for alcohol). Felt like full service again!

Same route, same day, same company, at 1PM and a different service. Our trolley had all kinds of soft drinks and sparkling water. No alcohol whatsoever though.

Seems like service is a bit random.

The lunchbox I got from Venice to Amsterdam last monday. The coffee was also in real cups. Annoying thing is that I forgot to put off my mask before drinking 😆
