Maybe there's a start date, from the beginning of S20 perhaps?

I don't believe they've even officially announced this new product yet.

Some more data points from my upcoming flights:
12/3 (-700) and 17/3 (E190): no front section seats
From 27/3 onwards: -700/-800/-900 and E190 all showing front section seats

Furthermore the E190 rows 8-10 that are now front section seats are also the rows with 1 inch less legroom ...

Then their new marketing slogan is a given:

Pay more for less!

Same on most of my TATL flights, front seats always last to fill up as most travellers are discouraged from choosing them.
Ah, good. More likelihood to end up with no seatmate in EC then I guess, at least for a bit

It looks like it may start April 1?

I've looked up another booking around easter and saw the following for a 737-700 from LHR.
Also, it shows prices in GBP for those who're interested.

No, I see preferred seats on flights late this month, but still before S20 starts on the 29th.

Correct, apologies. I must have been blinded by all the colours to choose from.

And: mentioned E190 LCY flights now also showing row 8-10 as paid "front section" seats, so basically everything in front of the wing is "preferred". End of this month, before first of April.

I'm mostly curious (and fear) if/that those will also still be paid choices upon OLCI, and thus allocated to the very last pax to check in at the airport... as with the Comfort seats.

No doubt, so now even more extremely infrequent flyers who have never heard of OLCI and show up at the airport at the last minute will be seated at the front of the plane for free.

Always paired with the best argument "but all seats are the same, right?"
