Where to catch the KLM 747 from the USA?

I live in the Pacific Northwest and this year I moved to DL/ SkyTeam as my preferred FF program. I was wondering if there is an airport in the USA where KLM regularly flies their remaining 747s to.

I know schedules change from season to season and I am planning either a trip to Asia (with a stop in Europe), or a RTW itinerary for early next year. I think currently, I've only seen the 747-400M several times a week to LAX.

I have flown many 747s in the past, with the last one being about 5 years ago. I have been on the UD once, but have never been in the nose section.

Thanks for any info!

Check flightradar24.com https://www.flightradar24.com/11.26,-84.87/3 and fill in flight numbers or do a dummy booking from US airports close to you to AMS....

I always fly on the 747 out of my home base of SFO. Daily 747 service in peak season (if you're lucky). Late flight of the day is the 787. LAX is also served by the 747 / combiner's

The 747 is being used on the following destinations in the US:
  • Chicago (ORD)
  • Los Angeles (LAX)
  • New York (JFK)
  • San Francisco (SFO)
Other destinations from AMS are:
  • Toronto (YYZ)
  • Mexico City (MEX)
  • Paramaribo (PBM)
  • Willemstad (CUR)
  • Hong Kong (HKG)
  • Seoul (ICN)
Be aware that not all of these are daily and that last minute equipment changes are possible.

(which happens a lot, as these birds frequently have issues)

Everyone should try to fly in row 1 on a 747 once, unique, you are further forward than the flight crew! If you get a flight over the Rockies it can be fun to watch your wine slosh from side to side as there is quite a bit of movement right up there in the nose. Good luck finding a flight, and enjoy if you do.

Agreed, quite an experience. And the upper deck is becoming a rare experience.
