Gate Check on Cityhopper
 

Deciding what to do about luggage for a flight later this month. Going HUY-AMS-TXL, 2 and a bit hour layover in Schiphol. Just enough time for a bite to eat, a drink and a bit of shopping, I reckon.

Four days, I'd normally go HBO, but I'm taking running kit and shoes and such, so the bag will be pretty full. Deciding whether to check a rucksack for ease of travel.

Last time I was in HUY, we were invited to gate check bags if we so wished due to the lack of space aboard. I'd be keen to do that this time if it would be checked through to TXL, then I could schlep around Schiphol to my heart's content.

Can you gate check bags if you have a connection? I travel with a smaller backpack anyway for day-to-day use, so I'd have my important stuff with me.

At least from BRS, if you gate check on Cityhopper you get them back at the foot of the airstairs in the Fokker farm, so you'll have to schlep them around AMS come what may.

It is, second time I've done it. I'm going to take a lot longer this time.

I might just swallow the expense and check a bag, it'll give me a more enjoyable morning, and an opportunity to bring some shopping home...
