Question ; lounge acces in AUH flying EY /KLM

Anyone who can give advise on this;
Flying economy KLM marketed /flight number but on Etihad metal AUH-AMS ( b 777), gold elite with Skyteam.
Flights seem to depart from terminal 3
Which lounge, if at all, is available or woud you suggest.
guest allowed?

Flight leaves 09h35 and after reading reviews off current onboard product a lounge to start would be welcome

I understand that you are not gold/Elite+ with FB but with another ST program ?
If yes, no lounge access and no miles for you. Sorry.

am Gold Elite with Flying Blue currently. Flight is booked directly with KLM , return is on Etihad metal.

in that case (FB Gold), it should be OK. But I am not sure for the guest.

https://www.skyteam.com/en/lounges/l...20Intl%20(AUH) implies that you must be on KL metal to access either Al Dhabi or Al Reem.

Try, but don't expect to get guest access too!

And PLEASE report back. It would be nice if people who came here for answers returned to tell us their experiences.

Certainly will report. though flight is only in jan 2020.

Flights of Etihad seem to leave terminal 3 and the suggested lounges are in 1 .

Will have to find out by then if there is a lounge allowing acces closer to the gate, especially after reading about current service level on Etihad in economy...

The terminals are linked; it's been a while since I connected at AUH, but there is a rudimentary security check involved in the transfer, but you can easily access the lounges in T1 regardless of whether you arrive/depart from T3.

The non-Etihad lounges are not that exciting.

Hi mate, I'm using Abu Dhabi as my starting point to get home to Inverness with KLM, in less than 2 weeks time. I think I'll be using the Al Dhabi lounge, I'll stick something on here, or in the other thread on FT already started.

Though with the new AUH airport coming online at the end of the year, I'm not sure how useful it'll be but I'll stick something on here regardless.

I only came on here today to see if anyone had been to it recently and left a post.

Abu Dhabi ( AUH ) AL Dhabi Lounge - Review

( Note for moderators - If you feel this thread / post needs to be moved to another subject header / topic, I fully understand ).

I've just flown from Abu Dhabi today, and I briefly used the lounge with less time spent in it than I expected due to staying with friends in Abu Dhabi.

I found the Al Dhabi Lounge easy to find. Turn right after security, and you find it at the end of the short passage on the right.

Al Dhabi Lounge Entrance ( apologies for the blurryness)

You enter and they usher you past, head upstairs via a lift or stairs. Only 1 floor up.

You encounter the reception desk. I asked about a shower and was politely informed to head through, and ask a lady or gentleman in blue uniform, on the second gap on the left for a shower.

I was given a shower cubicle immediately. The shower cubicle is large enough to swing multiple cats around at the same time, ( just expanding on the old saying ! )

The Shower / Toilet

The pressure of the water coming out of the shower head was perfect, as was the temperture. There is plenty of space to lay your bag and change of clothes. Also there is a very very small chance of shower water being able to wet your stuff whilst you have a shower.

Having read other reviews there are various spaces to sit in the main lounge depending on what you need to do. I sat in the primary bar area, there is a secondary one that doesn't appear to be in use.

I had just eaten with my friends prior to arriving at the airport, but I did check out the food options, perhaps due to my taste buds, I found the food offerings to be limited. I include a quick photo of one of the options.

Taking from one of the wee booths opposite the primary bar.

I arrived into the lounge around 11.45 in the evening for a 2am flight. I didn't have a passport registered to the automatic custom immigration gates, and it probably took around 15-20 minutes to get through manual immigration and security..

The lounge wasn't overtly too busy, a couple of areas were filled, but there were plenty of seats in the bat area, and a large area of empty seats by the kids area, which wasn't in use.

The bar staff are friendly and helpful with a very nice liberal measure for a double gin, and tonic.

On the walls in various places is flight information boards if you need to check your flight information.

Wifi is adequate as I only used it to chat and compose an email. I've no idea how it is if you were to stream a movie or watch something on youtube.

To get to gate number 21, it's fairly easy to get to and takes only a few minutes walk, if that.

I think I've covered most of the lounge, if you have any questions, please ask.
