New to KLM Business - 747 Combi Upper Deck questions

Hello everyone! Thanks for reading.

I have never flown KLM business before. (I've never flow any long-haul KLM before, just short hops.)

I have a flight coming up in about a month on a 747 Combi. (ORD to AMS) I have a seat on the upper deck, as I have always wanted to fly up top on a 747.

I always pick an aisle seat. I am currently in 78B. (Row 77 still shows open. Is that any better?)

Also, is there a service order up top? (I.E. if I am in row 78, should I expect them to be low on meal selections?)

Anything else unique to KLM in business I should know about that might be new to me?

I suggest picking up the emergency row seat, it has larger footrest (largest in the aisle).

Agreed! The difference is quite significant.

Any open seat downstairs, like 1A?

1A, 4A and 4E are among the most beloved. Upstairs, the exit row (78) is where it's at. Service will be fine up- and downstairs: meals don't ever run out in my experience.

They tend to take orders from front to back but all of the meal choices have been available even the 5 times when I was sitting in the back rows (77 - 79). Go for the best seat recommendation that others have provided and don't worry about meal availability

71 J/K, 72 A/B and 77 A/B/J/K all have larger footrests, since there's no seat in front that needs that space.
71 J/K is close to lavatories though, I don't recommend that row.

72A is my personal favourite seat

Thank you very much everyone for the information. I moved to row 77, as suggested.

So THAT'S what it was. I couldn't figure out why 77B was more comfortable than 4A a week earlier.

Delta’s seat map is showing that 72A is a single seat like 1A 4A and 4E. Is this true or is this just a mistake on the seat map?

72A showing as a single.

It's a mistake.
And now I'm wondering why Delta wouldn't let anyone book 72B...

I always prefer to sit all the way in the back so I picked 79K, the aisle seat was empty so slept in that one. Recommendable seat if you like overview of the cabin.FA told me one of the 79 seats is usually empty so good chance you have no neighbor.
