2 hour wait for a shower? Madness!

There's a 2 hour wait for a shower at Schipol's lounge 52.

I know they are under construction but this is quite mad!

And it wont be done, according to the lady, until June.

I will not likely fly KLM for international long haul connections given this until they get their lounge in order.

I don't think KLM will lose a second of sleep over one passenger not wanting to fly them over a shower wait time...

Where exactly would you put the extra temporary showers?

If a shower is critical to your travel needs, you should connect elsewhere. There are many airports in Europe and many carriers.

Or just pop over to the Mercure and book a shower there.

That the Crown Lounge can't provide a proper shower service within reasonable time is admittedly annoying, but not the end of the world.

This lounge currently has no showers available, instead 4 showers in the Mercure are now available for KLM passengers with lounge access.

But the shower capacity has nothing to do with the renovations, because it is known for years and seems to be a management choice not to increase the number of showers and the turnaround time (cleaning, key processing).

Why is it taking so long to refit Lounge 52?
Is a building extension required, or is this just an internal refit/redecoration?

They just opened the newly built section and are now refitting the old space.

Or you can book transfer via CDG, book P instead of J and enjoy shower at will (stay in there for hour if you wish).
