KL pilot union preparing for industrial action.

They are threatening strikes, but no earlier than the second half of next month.

Interesting. There’s a big shortage of pilots around the world. If they don’t like it at KLM, then why don’t they simply go work somewhere else instead of joining their French collègues in hurting the company and alienating their passengers? Oh wait....because they’ll be paid less and have to work more at other airlines,

Or retire at 58 (56 until a few years ago) with a generous pension.

I was last in Europe in late April. AF decided to strike and cancel my flight. I'm flying in late September to AMS with KL... guess it's only fitting if they strike too...

KL and the pilot union have now appointed a mediator.

Deadline for an agreement is September 6th, or else . . . .

Let's hope they do not go the AF way. At least in NL we have a long history of understanding that compromises rather than stalemates and fence-offs are the way to go. Proof of this pudding by 6 September hence.

And Schiphol is smack-bang in the middle of a polder. Maybe that helps.

If they just walk out and leave all the lanes open, the pax will cheer and pray they will never ever return.

Last time they striked, I've had the smoothest security experience ever. Here's hoping they (security) will strike again on 9th (luckily, not flying KLM this time)

The strike of security staff is called off. An agreement has been reached last night.
