Well they're already saying it won't open in time in 2019. Still space for further delays up to Dec 2020

That was kind of my point! They were already saying that in April, and Johan already posted it back then.

I don't think it was "they" at the time. Only Johan.

So...has this already opened? The KLM website is advising me my next flight is departing from an A gate!

See the article on Luchtvaartnieuws:

In addition, If someone has the magazine, are they any interesting key points from the article?

I'll try to nab a copy next time I'm in the Privium lounge. They usually have stacks of 'm.

Luchtvaartnieuws reports that the opening of the new A concourse has been delayed again, this time indefinitely, for reasons unknown. That's to say, Schiphol knows the reason, but won't say. Problems with the contractors, apparently.

I've noticed on several occasions when taxiing past that nothing much seems to be going on at that construction site.

The A Terminal (not the same things as the A concourse, a.k.a. A-pier in Dutch) is also still in limbo, according to the same source.

Construction of the A concourse has ground to a complete halt. Schiphol has terminated its contract with Ballast-Nedam, and is now looking for another contractor to finish the job.

Holding your breath while waiting for the festive opening of the new concourse is probably not a good idea.

Is that because the specifications for the moving walkways put forward by the subcontractor were of too high a standard and there was a risk that they would not be in a near permanent state of repair , as one would expect at Schiphol?

Reviving this old thread as things are happening again!

Seems a new contractor has been found and work has been resuming for the last month or two.

Also I notice a few signs in the terminal, including the planned transfer bus between A and D pier.

Anyone has information about a projected opening date? I guess 2023 may not more be realistic...

Transfer buses at Schiphol... I guess we're finally achieving parity with my most hated feature of CDG.

iirc they will be mixed-use. which is probably where this bus transfer situation comes in as the Schengen area will be located between it and the current non-Schengen area.
