non-schengen to non-schengen at AMS, two separate reservations

Hello and apologies if this isn't directly about KLM.

I need to get from LON to SXM and I have noticed that TUI flies AMS-SXM for a very good price. I also found a LHR-AMS with BA for very cheap. I know it would be a bit risky, but if everything goes well I would have 3hrs between my flights.

From what I understand, at AMS, non-schengen arrivals from trusted counties (UK, US, etc) are directly fed into the main non-schengen departures lounge. Assuming I previously checked in online with TUI, can I get off my BA flight and walk directly to my SXM gate? Will my self printed boarding pass work at the SXM gate if it was never scanned at security?

Many thanks!!

Yes and yes. All this is assuming you don't check bags of course.

I belive it's Schengen countries + EU member states, and the US that are considered clean origin countries.

Not last time I checked. It's not so much a case of being "trusted" but a case of having formally signed up to some EU airport security agreement.

...which, in shorthand, is referred to as "trusted"

So what is the procedure for non-trusted non-schengen to trusted non-schengen please? Security only, or security plus passport control?

Security only. As you do not enter the Schengen zone there is no need for passport control.

As expected, thanks. I had a very slight fear from the answers above re trusted countries that, from a non-trusted country, I might actually be routed through passport control twice, i.e. into landside and out again. Thankfully not the case.
