MMB - upgrade now option not working?

MMB - upgrade now option not working?
Does not happen often; I have a full-fare ticket and a long flight (IAD-AMS-JNB) ahead of me. I hope to use miles for an upgrade. On MMB I see the option "upgrade now" but when I click on it I am directed to a page on AF and when I fill in my login information I get an error message. Anybody ever used this online option? Thanks!

I have had this a few times as well. Usually it means the upgrade is available but not all fare details have loaded in the booking record that MMB pulls and provides to the AF engine when it redirects yout booking to complete the upgrade. I had this happpen after a flight date has been changed from the original booking or if bookging was done via a TA.
Typically a call the KLM helpdesk sorts things and they will wave the call fee because online function did not work.
