All the -300s are leased, I believe only one -200 is leased. There was talk of offloading the -300s a coupe of years back but this didn't materialise. Maybe there is a medium term plan again to offload the -300s and maybe this influenced the decision to not refit Y? Refitting Y is costlier than a a smaller J cabin. Justs a guess.

Wow. Whilst I will not miss the slippery slope seats, I will miss the Slippery Slope posts. Ever since they were installed they have provided us some of the most entertaining posts on the forum!

Yes, haven’t they? Just goes to show how many are vested into flying KLM’s business class. It amazes me how it’s so popular and always seems full, even though it’s comparatively pricy and never shows up on top 10 lists.

That being said... PH-AOE is on the ground. Just one a/c (PH-AOF) with slippery slopes flying! Grab a flight on it for old times‘ sake while you can

True, but KL's J cabins are also pretty small compared to those of their main competitors.

The seat maps on KLM’s website have been updated to reflect the new WBC seats. The seating plan has remained the same though, as was to be expected.

When this is over, should we start a thread on the upcoming B787-10 seats?

Well, the current 787 seats can replace the slippery slope seats for witty comments. Half of them seem to be falling apart and malfunctioning!

Given that J seats cost a small fortune, and that they are customized to meet the airline's specs, that's is nothing short of amazing.

Top quality is the very least one would expect.

I reckon they negotiated hard to get a cheap deal (as in "being cheap")...which resulted in the manufacturer using cheap components....

During the day the WBC in the A330 is fine but at night it has some issues. It smaller then the 747 / 777 which you will notice. Also the storage places differ and are not as handy as the 'bigger' chairs on the 747/777.

But the screen of the IFE is better.

I like the small single cabin.

Have a great X mas!

I find the lack of practical and secure storage one of the biggest downsides of the 777 seats.
