This sounds excellent indeed! It makes it very un-tempting to go through CDG on the inadequate A320 despite the better times so it would be nice if AF followed suite too...

That is quite an upgrade! Any news on how long the B772 will be operating the route for or is it permanent?

just a bit of extra info, so what is happening is that in fact KL is swapping its TLV and CAI planes for this summer season, no doubt as a result of the major decline of Egypt as a destination following the period of political unrest, so CAI gets the 739 and TLV the 772. Personally, I wish the 772 would last beyond the end of the summer season.

Well, I think C will now cost more! Pretty nice if you've booked EBC and now get the WBC seat and service.

Yes in cheapest eco: bigger planes = more seats in R so it is now easier to get the lowest rate than before although this might not last long.

Indeed, a guaranteed empty seat next to you... you would not have gotten that in the triple 7!

Would the flight to TLV with WBC configuration also come with WBC service or just standard Europe Select / Europe Business Class service?

Ah, my guess is EBC. I can't imagine them introducing WBC service for a few months and then withdrawing it, and TLV is still considered part of Europe for the AF-KL service in general and is likely to either change for both or not at all, so I think anybody expecting their little huisje will be in for a disappointment.

Conversely, I can't imagine the CAI service being downgraded to EBC on top of the plane downgrade. I thus expect CAI passengers to retain the WBC service despite the new aircraft.

How can you have WBC service on a regional aircraft? Half of the promised benefits on their website wouldn't be applicable (e.g. on demand personal entertainment system). Plus, is the galley space even big enough to store WBC meals service on such a small aircraft?

I am going to Tel Aviv in early June from North America. The May/June promo just published showed two cities on AF that don't require me to get a position flight to depart but AF flies an A320 to TLV whereas KLM will fly B777 to TLV. To fly KLM, I will have to get a position flight, so I am wondering whether this is worth the cost if KLM is simply going to have a nicer cabin but not the service to go with it. Do you think I should give KLM a call and find out? Would they know at this point?
