Per pax and USD. Still very cheap. And I didn't fly that, my parents and brothers did (first time J for my brothers they loved it) We each went our ways at the airport, I was on AC J to YVR, which was enjoyable as well!

Indeed, I wouldn't have had to think about that for long.

Well, they're ruined now.

On Friday evening I was offered, at the machines in transit at AMS, EUR149 for AMS-GVA. Naturally I declined and had a very nice flight in Y with an exemplary cabin crew. The South African red wine was perfectly drinkable and the wrap that was served was more than enough so late in the evening. KLM catering seems to have really improved since I was last a regular some 2+ year ago. No more birdseed?

European catering in particular is great. I've had some genuinely good food in the cabin.

What a turnaround from the birdseed and TUC years. You know, I haven't been able to face eating a single TUC biscuit since then, so it's not exactly a marketing gift for TUC. I presume you mean the Economy cabin. The Business cabin I recollect as being disappointing, but an improvement over the Europe Select days of small boxed meals.

Back to the regular programming, for the late evening flight AMS-PRG tomorrow, upgrade is EUR 69 or 17500 miles, at 1/8 occupancy in the Embraer.

BOS-AMS on Delta... I asked for the upgrade fee...

It was 6.000 to 10.000 U$.

They where not sure but it would be in that price range.

Are you sure they weren't quoting Skymiles rather than Dollars?

Sounds more like a re-ticket rather than an upgrade?

From what I've been told by Delta they do not do buy ups at OLCI in the same way KLM and other airlines do them. If you want Business you have to pay a Business Class fare so likely you were just quoted the difference between Y and C.

I've definitely seen upgrade offers, OLCI ones and even before the checkin period. It just isn't done like KLM with DoD upgrades.

I may have asked this before, but I can't find the answer.

My flight on Tuesday (LAX-AMS) still shows J=9 (nothing in Z at the moment). The first flight is operated by DL (SMF-LAX) and the ticket was also booked on dl.com.

Is there a way to see any possible upgrade offer once checkin opens for the KLM flight, or is it just going to redirect me to the delta website to check in? I seem to remember trying this last year (this is just about the only trip to Europe each year where I don't book J upfront, as Y was $530 and J a whopping $8300) but at that point J=2 and by the time I got to the lounge and later gate J was fully booked.

Just not trying to get my hopes up; I know this is a business-heavy route but as this is a quick trip to Berlin and back the same week I would not mind any possible upgrade, even if it's going to cost me (within reason, of course).
