Not really - you get the miles of your original booking. Or has this changed recently?!

No, it hasn't changed, but about half the time you do get the extra miles due to a system glitch in our favor.

Was offered the following at OLCI:
CWL to AMS GBP59
AMS to KUL GBP446.30

We already had economy comfort seats on both segments but could not resist the offer for the AMS to KUL segment so took it. I know is probably not the best offer but I think is still "doable".

CUR-AMS 399€ or 50k miles few minutes after OLCI opened. Didn't go for it right away and 1 hour later the offer was gone. Is that happening often that the upgrades are sold out quickly? And any thoughts whether it's better to upgrade with miles or €€ in this case?

An upgrade with a good price will be gone quickly.

Euros is better; 50K miles gets you a J one-way award ticket to CUR, basically.

And yeah, they go fast at that low rate.

That's a hell of of a deal in my opinion: $600 USD for a 6,300 mile flight. I'd jump on that in a heartbeat and I'd call it way better than doable.

I agree but they are sometimes even lower in price. I had JKT-AMS for €389 a few months back!

True, I was offered €329 for AMS-KUL in March, 2017. Took it for two passengers.
