Two colleagues just checked in for MNL today. No status, yet pre-assigned seats in Economy Comfort. Upgrades to J offered for US$ 151 (21 seats available).

Funny thing is, selecting another seat in EC triggered a surcharge, also of US$ 151, and emergency exit rows were US$ 96.

Maybe already asked before, but quick search didn't show it..

Stays your booking class the same when you do the upgrade? Or do also get miles in "Z" class?

I doubt I will get upgrade on my flight, since it still looks pretty empty. So thinking about upgrading from a "Q" fare at the airport.

You do get business class mileage on KLM if you have a PAID upgrade.

HAM-AMS yesterday. Y was at 9+ and upgrade offered at 179 EUR. For a 40min flight? LOLGTFO.

AMS- YVR tomorrow. J6 C6 D6 I6 Z0 O6 Y5 B5 M5 U5 K5 H5 L5 Q4 T4 E0 N0 R0 G0 X0
Booked in K, got the Eco Comfort Seat for free. WBC Upgrade for 340 EUR... Pondered for a few mins and went for it. It made sense on a nearly 10hrs flight.

That seems to suggest that the price will drop as more and more pax OCLI but do not take up the upgrade offer. In that case, and assuming one already has the Y seat of once choice allocated, it would make sense to check regularly to see if the price changes and only complete OLCI at the last moment.

Yes, but prices are flexible both ways. I've seen biz upgrade offers go from 79 to 340 EUR for a European shorthaul flight once the oversold situation was cleared...

SIN-DPS-SIN Cost?

Any idea what kind of $/€/SGD it would take to upgrade at OLCI on the short SIN-DPS leg? I am not originating in or continuing on the way back to AMS (just doing SIN-DPS-SIN). We are already booked in 9A,9B on the 777 and decided not to up-fare and burn a Delta SWU for these short flights - even though I could do it for about $120 each r/t+ SWU, but this thread has peaked my curiosity about what the cost might be.

Might be fun to book J @ OLCI going one of the directions and ride EC on the other to compare. J cabin is showing "O=9" for both of my flights only a few weeks away.

SIN-DPS: J9 C9 D9 I9 Z9 O9 Y9 B9 M9 U9 K9 H9 L9 Q9 T9 E0 N9 R9 G0 X9
DPS-SIN: J9 C9 D9 I9 Z9 O9 Y9 B9 M9 U9 K9 H9 L9 Q9 T9 E0 N9 R9 G0 X9

Apologies if this is covered somewhere in this thread, my searches for "SIN", "DPS", "Singapore", "Bali" came up empty

Thanks!

That's iffy because these upgrades are not always offered. On the longer intra-EU routes I think it's 119, which is overpriced IMO. You get a slightly better meal (sandwich) and lounge access. The lounges at some of the outstations are pretty dire. But I guess whether it's worth it to me is besides he point.
I got it for 32 from LIS to AMS last week. Well worthwhile as the flight was overbooked, and I had a fantastic purser in C. The meal wasn't too bad either.
