Volcanic Refunds
I'm sure many of us have various refunds due for ash-related cancellations and it has struck me as interesting how those claims are being addressed - not least the time to process the refunds...
My experience so far with, I think, 5 refunds on the go: CityJet (VLM as was) - called them Tuesday of the shutdown, money was back in my account by Friday Bmi - email to "refunds", no response or acknowledgement (perhaps she's stuck herself somewhere...) but the money appeared last week (less the CC charge) KLM - called them on the Friday: took three calls, each one on hold for 10 mins+, to actually get through. Refund is for a full C class ticket - told it was OK but would take 6 to 7 weeks to process Ryanair - flight on the Sunday was cancelled on Saturday, very efficient link to a page on their website to change or refund. Made the refund request very quickly and simply and money received this morning (including CC charge) Norwegian - applied online, nothing from them yet (cash or acknowledgement) So: most efficient process? Ryanair; speediest repayment? CityJet; worst customer experience? KLM for a business class ticket that's fully refundable anyway and they charge in 30 seconds... Anybody else? |
