When the Sabre choice was originally announced the ETA was 2010. I was somewhat surprised to hear that TB2 would be dependent on that since that meant a significant delay for TB2.

Transition is slated for 1Q10; most likely sometime in February. Training on the new system is ongoing now through the first quarter of next year.

Robin Hayes reaffirmed this today at our leadership connection meeting. Would it not be appropriate to roll out a new TrueBlue program on our 10th anniversary?

I found this thread very interesting as I am trying to glean some info on B6 in order to decide whether to buy their all-jet pass and fly with them for the first time or just stick with UA for the next month when I need to go to NYC about 3-4 times. As I already re-qualified as 1K for the next year, earning miles really does not matter. Flying almost exclusively on UA, I guess I've been also spoiled by being able to cut through the lines. If NRSAs help with pax luggage I'd find that truly impressive, because I can't remember UA FAs lifting their finger during boarding in order not to injure themselves. So I would tolerate 30 NRSAs boarding before anybody else even though it looks bad.

I trust you, but it looks unusual to board non-paying crew-members of other airlines before paying passengers, and I would have to really try hard to trust that these non-revenue flyers help the B6 crew with boarding. :confused: It may also potentially be an issue if overhead bins get full.

The non-B6 employees aren't going to help provide service during boarding but they also won't get in the way too much. I don't fly B6 all that often (though I will be next month :cool:) but I've not experienced issues with overhead bins being full or the non-revs getting in the way.

No, you won't get to pre-board (though supposedly that benefit is coming for EML seats at some point) but it really isn't that big a deal. I've not had trouble finding space in the overhead for my bag, even on the E90 where they are somewhat smaller, on any of my flights with B6.

Give them a try. You're risk level is pretty low and you might actually find that you enjoy it. You get the same E+ pitch as long as you are on the A320 (34") without worrying about it and you might find that you like them. Worst case, you go back UA and you didn't really waste anything, especially not money.
