DirecTV on Caribbean flights?

Flying JFK-AUA-JFK later in the month. I know that DirecTV is not available for the entire flight for Caribbean flights due to coverage issues, but was curious if it works for a portion of the flight before cutting out, or if I'll be TV-less for the entire flight.

Curious to hear your experiences :) Thanks!

You will definetely have the signal for most of the flight. You may have free movies as well.

It all depends on your specific routing that day, but JFK-AUA is mostly over international waters. When I flew that route we had TV for about 40 minutes after takeoff; XM works a little longer; and there are 3 movies which are FREE on all Caribbean flights. Additionally, ch. 41 (Times On Air) provides free programming. Enjoy!

Just flew this Sat.

Have the signal about 1 hr ex JFK. This includes a more coastal route due to weather. We did get 3 free movies.
