DirectTV Outage

Please be advised that DIRECTV is currently experiencing technical difficulties which has resulted in a outage of our live television programming on some JetBlue flights. Pre-recorded content like pay-per-view movies and Times On Air operate on a different server and therefore are not affected by this outage. LiveTV is currently working with DIRECTV to remedy the situation; all aircraft will receive a software update when they reach a LiveTV city today.

Friday morning update: As of 6 a.m., 71% of JetBlue's fleet has been remedied. XM Satellite Radio is now available fleet-wide.

"It worked until you broke it."

My home DirecTV also freaked out today. Odd to read about it on an aviation forum.

Too bad you can't get a credit towards a future JetBlue flight because of the outage at your house...:p

NO Direct TV

So what are we paying for? No tv and there is no one in customer service to pick up the phone? Saturday night and I want to watch my programs. Really sorry I chose direct TV

This was a post back from 2008 and we haven't had any real issues with DirecTv onboard in the last several months.

I wonder in Allgood thinks this is a Direct TV message board versus what we really are.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, Allgood.

You should receive a JetBlue credit if the LiveTV system was out of order on your particular flight. If you don't get it automatically (happens rather often if they have your email from the original reservation) just use the "Talk Up" link on the website and mention that it was out of service. I'm pretty sure the credit is $25 these days.
