In regard to buy on board, it should be said that the B6 people were of the belief that their picks of F&B vendors for T5 would easily lend itself to having multiple grab and go options.

The bag room was really freakin' cool. +1 to that.

Another thing that didn't get mentioned was B6's desire to have the concourses themselves be the quiet part of the terminal. They want the buzz and the noise to be in the central marketplace area, and they are toying with the idea of doing silent standby and silent boarding, using overhead LCD's to notify standbys and to call flights. Jeff didn't say, nor was it asked, if they were wiring for a PA system, but they seem to think that overhead screens will change human behavior to the point that a PA is not needed. I'm not sure I agree, but it's a very interesting concept.

Acy

I almost forgot to poke a bit of fun at ConciergeMike about his ACY request during the Q&A session. That one doesn't seem to be on the drawing board any time soon, though they are certainly keen to pick up any disgruntled US travelers they can find.

I like the idea of a silent concourse; it makes it easier to negotiate voice recognition systems when using a phone/cell phone and I'm not keen on the blaring of CNN/FOX or some other TV station into the gate area. If I want TV, I'll watch it on the plane!

But, B6 indicated that they may still keep the blaring TV screens, so it doesn't sound completely quiet.

LHR T5 is noteable for its quietness and absence of announcement and noise when I visited it landside (pre security); I don't know how it is after security. It really makes a difference towards a more calm atmosphere (we're assuming you don't check luggage through LHR T5).

Oh no! They need MORE TV's in the waiting area. And having some with CNN and some with ESPN would be nice.

A guy can dream! As much as I don't mind using PHL or EWR, ACY is really great for the area I live in, save for the presence of NK. The WN operation at PHL almost came to ACY, but PHL made them the better deal on fees.

In all seriousness, I really think short-haul regional air into ACY from NY, PA, and OH will work, but admittedly not 7 days a week. Gaming can drive the air service, but it has to be done right.

It was a great afternoon S, thanks again.

Allegiant Air

ConciergeMike
Atlantic City is probably high on Allegiant Air's list for possible service. They would be the best ones to add a lot of flights there. Spirit could too but they seem to focus only the Caribbean at the moment.

That's interesting. With other FF programs getting less attractive year by year, there's virtue in just holding the line. But I'll bet more than a few members would trade something for an extension of the 12-month rolling expiration to 24 months. Expiration of miles is such a nuisance. Of course these days we also have to estimate the expiration date of our airlines!

Thanks so much for the notes. I'm envious of you guys, especially for the baggage facility tour.
