Award Ticket Change Fee

Why is JetBlue now going to charge $100 to change an award ticket?

USAirways and AA do not charge anything to change the date/time of an award ticket and their FF programs are far superior.

If B6 doesn't want to alienate it's best customers, there should be no fee to change award tickets on-line!

What a nice way to treat your most frequent flyers!

Agreed! I was going to change two one-way awards in the near future but since they are under two different PNRs I'd rather no-show and lose the travel than spend $200 just to change the date.

Well all will follow soon; and not just this but, and extra 5 dollars to board earlier;if you call for any information it will be a pay per second call - like 2 dollars a minute. That's the way it's going.

For the same reason that they are charging all change fees at $100 - they want the money. And they'll get it, so it isn't such a bad plan. I don't believe that the TrueBlue seats were ever changable online, so adding the functionality and not charging isn't likely to happen. They don't care that you can do it without getting a call center involved. They want the money.

Well, that seems to be cutting off your nose to spite your face a bit. Yeah, you're pissed, but throwing away the value of the tickets - which is almost certainly higher than $200 - just because you don't like the policy actually is better for B6 than you paying the change and flying on the dates that you want. Taking a $300 trip for $200 is still better than paying $300 for it.
