ASM is up a lot (13.4%) and LF is down 3.7%, though still in the relatively healthy 80% range. Big jump in RASM, too, though no indication of CASM change.

I agree that money is what really matters, not traffic or load factors, but it's not encouraging, especially given that Easter fell in March this year. Looks like the higher fares are impacting demand, as growth (the new, slower growth at that) in capacity still outpaced demand.

I forgot about that. With this including Easter holiday traffic the numbers are particularly worrisome. I'm scared to think what April will show.

Looks like possible effects of recession are setting in. Although April could come in OK with Passover and NY-FL traffic.

We shall see.

You missed the RASM in the press release. B6 states it is up 13% from 2007.

Load factor for March 2008 was 81.8 percent, a decrease of 3.7 points from March 2007. JetBlue's preliminary completion factor was 98.9 percent and its on-time (1) performance was 70.8 percent. JetBlue's preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for the month of March increased 13 percent year over year.

That is much better news, and much more encouraging than my earlier assessment. :)

A 13% RASM increase is very good.

THAT will teach me to comment before clicking on the link. :o

It should probably teach me to comment even after reading the release!!

The 13% RASM increase is actually pretty good, but fuel has increased more than that, so CASM may be scary when we see that in the quarterly filing.
