Website booking question
I was just pricing out travel from NYC to Florida. Once again, I am slightly confused why JetBlue wouldn't let the pax (this time, me) plug in a generic NYC instead of a specific airport. I really don't have preferrence as to which NYC airport I use (heck, I'd even use HPN or SWF) as long as the times jive with my schedule and the price fits in my budget. I think Delta is the only other airline that does this, also. Any one got any ideas as to the limitations?

I've always wondered it about DL, too.
I usually end up using ITA to search and then book directly once I know what I want. Not as convenient as CO's site nor NWA's, but such is life. Also, NYC traditionally wouldn't include SWF, just LGA/JFK/EWR, and EWR only in some searches. CO actually has troube sometimes with the NYC search, because of their preference for the EWR flights. I've had searches come back many times with the higher fares from EWR where a "JFK" search shows the lower fare. Caveat Flyor. |
I have no idea why this feature isn't already in place on the website. Customer service reps can do this type of search (if I remember correctly, the "NY Metro" search includes JFK/LGA/EWR/SWF/HPN, but I could be mistaken)
Call 1-800-JETBLUE and have them do it for you. :) |
I find the same limitation to be a pain for California flights.
SJC/SFO/OAK with an option for SMF would be nice for Norcal. LAX/ONT/BUR/LGB would be nice for Socal. It gets especially hairy for NYC-CA flights. I use beta.itasoftware.com and it works great. qsf;smf::b6 is the search term for the Norcal airports; ::b6 limits the results to b6 nyc;swf;hpn works for EWR/JFK/LGA/SWF/HPN for any carrier qla is the code for LAX/SNA/BUR qla;lgb;ont would add LGB and ONT to the search The time restrictions on beta.itasoftware.com are also great for those trips when I need to be somewhere at a certain time. I have no vested interest in the site, I'm just a satisified user of it. |

I use the electronic timetable for my desktop and it gives you the NY Metro option, it only includes JFK, LGA, EWR leaving out HPN and SWF, and on the online version NYC only gives you JFK and LGA. I think it would be awesome if the offered the combined option.
