B6 to MSP?
I've been hearing rumors around the Twin Cities, and another air site that Jetblue could begin service to MSP and make it a focus city using the Lindbergh Terminal. Could someone tell me if this is true?

would love to see this happen, so I could connect someplace other than JFK, but I'd very surprised if it did, particularly with Sun Country already established at MSP

I emailed corporate HQ in hopes of some answers. If these rumors are not true, we should get a petition going to help convince the MAC and B6 to begin service here.

I found this on the MAC's site under strategic plan.
1. Promote MSP to international and domestic airlines in order to increase service levels. Measurable Outcome: Increased number of international and domestic airlines serving this market. link to site: http://www.mspairport.com/mac/docs/s...0protected.pdf hint at things to come???!!! |

When T5 opens up, will they still use T6? If T5 and T6 are both in use, then they could fly to MSP if they could find any.
|
B6 may want to try MSP-BOS for 1-3x daily.
From MSP, Northwest also doesn't serve Aruba, Nassau, Santiago, and Bermuda which could add to possible connections, especially if there are multiple daily flights Some people will do anything to avoid the red tails in MSP as well as their prices. People may be willing connect to Florida, CLT, RIC, and the seasonal SJU flights too. Most other destinations in a MSP-BOS run would result in a ridiculous amount of travel time unfortunately. |
I just got this from corporate comm:
Hi Matthew, Thanks for the interest in JetBlue. I can confirm this rumor is completely false! Our route planning team is constantly evaluating new destinations, but we have no plans to announce MSP service. Maybe they just won't tell me that they are going to start MSP service to keep it from leaking. |
Now it's time for us to start a petition and try to convince B6 to fly to MSP and the MAC to let B6 to fly to MSP. My goal is to get at least 100,000 signatures and present it to MAC and B6,and see what both say. I also have to convince the flying people of MSP that B6 can serve some of their destinations, that tickets would be low price, etc.
Does anyone support me in my decision to get B6 to serve MSP? |
My dream would be a B6/SY merger/alliance :)
1. Would build on Mexican destinations 2. Would add alaska 3. Would create a focus city not in on one of the coasts, with reasonally good opportunities for connections. |
I think in the future you will see us in MSP, but as far as a hub or focus city operation, that I don't see. Remember there is a big red (or now silver) giant that gets upset and angry when you intrude on it's territory.

Although, I'm up that way once every 12-18 months. It would make my trips a lot nicer. |
Well to the silver giant, you are so money hungry, you guys have lost the concept of healthy competition. I think I speak for most minnesotans when I say, let LCC's like Jetblue come to MSP instead of pricing them out. Jetblue you have got yourself a new passenger. Whenever I can fly your great airline, I will. I could care less about what that silver giant does.
