Dirty E190s

Flew RIC-JFK on the E190 for the first time recently; I usually do RIC-LGA or CHO-LGA on US. Is the recent B6 turmoil keeping them from cleaning the aircraft or is the color scheme just succeptible to that sort of thing? With the number of pen marks on the seat backs and trays, I thought I was on a US 737, circa Jan. 2006.

Whoa! I'll check into that! Our E190s are brand new! Nothing yuckier than a dirty plane. Well, wait - yes, there IS something worse than a dirty plane, but regardless, I'll find out what the deal is.

I was going to ask if the flights were at the end of the day, as the E190 flies many short hops and cleaning is done overnight. But since you mention pen marks - that's odd for such a new airplane, unless you got that one "lucky" seat that had the 5-year old going crazy with a pen.

I remember not long ago a study was released with the cleanest planes and jetBlue's fleet won. IIRC, Delta had the dirtiest fleet...in terms of frequency of cleaning aircraft. Still no excuse for a dirty plane.

I fly on the A320 about 30 times per year, and I must say every segment was spotless for the most part.

Certainly, I would think that the amount of time the E190 fleet spent grounded would have given Jet Blue ample opportunity to clean them.

While I agree that, overall, the Jet Blue aircraft on which I have travelled recently are relatively clean, also, some are beginning to look a little "shop-worn."

Jenny,
I have never been on a B6 E190. Do they have leather seats?
The reason I am asking is I work for AS and we are having problems
with our leather seats showing pen marks on the seatbacks, looking at the seat in front of you when you have your tray down.
We have tried a few products to clean the ink off but nothing helps, and most of them take your breath away.
Thanks

Cleaning

Each overnight a/c in BOS gets an extensive a/c detailing for the interior. I believe JFK RONs have the same servicing, but not entirely sure.

There are a couple of 190s out there that do have a lot of pen marks and scuff marks on the walls and seatbacks. What day did you fly RIC-JFK so we can track that aircraft down?

Is that an official Jet Blue position? To drive away paying passengers?

Not a good way to do business, for sure.

Don't forget that even passengers with complaints pay your salary.

Or maybe you just don't care anymore.

I don't think you could have proved dietcoke's point any better!

I definitely don't speak for jetblue so don't try that spin with me. But I have enough crewmember friends at other airlines, and like me they all just don't care for whiners like you!! Remember, I'm at the front of the bus and when it comes to dealing with arrogant idiots like you I just have security escort you off the flight. All you want is something for free.

Now, now, this isn't very nice.

No free speech in this forum? Should this be taken to Only Randy so we can get Randy's position on whether or not Bam Bam should be allowed to interrupt the B6 cheerleader conference every once in awhile?
