B6 Applying for BOS-CUN
I don't have the link, but on a.net, there is a docket sent to the government requesting rights to Cancun from Boston, because of AA leaving the route. I am not sure of sales for their JFK-CUN flight, but, because of them only launching the route yesterday, I would assume that they have strong bookings.

i wonder if this will be daily or fri/sat/sun only????
us airways does sat/sun delta sat only aeromexico runs a sat only charter the demand is still sky high for weekend travel but i'm not sure about it during monday-thursday .. |
Not at all surprising...these flights should do very well!
It seems like BOS is still nicely growing and I really wonder when the long rumored BOS-SAN will launch. I hear once AA drops it to start MIA-SAN. Hopefully that will be soon. |
I thought that the covetted BOS-CUN service went to DL? Or are more than two carriers allowed to fly between the US and Mexico?

delta just started the saturday only service in 2006.. American suspended nonstop service after hurricane wilma in 2005. From searching these forums, American originally had plans to do the daily... Maybe B6 has those plans now!!!

Yes, DL has been just started BOS-CUN sometime in mid-2006. I think that I hear DL has been done well to CUN. I can't imagine if DL will ever get daily flight. I think they has more times some of those other airlines from BOS. Looking forward for apply with the DOT to get approved to CUN and when B6 is ready for official news releases for BOS-CUN.
this is quoted from the application docket online http://dms.dot.gov/search/document.c...docketid=26524 http://dms.dot.gov/search/document.c...docketid=26525 "4. JetBlue will commence operations between Boston and Cancun on March 2, 2007. 5. JetBlues proposed schedule is set forth in Exhibit 1. JetBlue will initially operate this route by providing service three times per week, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during peak months (November through April) beginning on March 2, 2007. During off-peak months (May through October), JetBlue plans to provide service once per week on Saturdays. In both peak and off-peak months, JetBlue is prepared to increase service as demand is generated up to and including daily service. JetBlue requests that authority granted allow it to increase service as demand develops." |
The flights should arrive and depart out of the E Terminal. I shoiuld expect the BOS-CUN flights will do extremely well during the travel season and may even be run on a daily basis during the height of the travel season.

I think BOS-CUN will be the first non-stop route for B6 that doesn't have daily service, although Monday-Thursday service would still be provided by connecting through JFK. I wonder if we will start to see more routes like this and BOS-SJU that have non-stops on peak days/seasons and connections during the off-peak.
The Saturday trip (and the 2nd JFK-AUA trip) seem to balance out the schedule nicely. A few of the domestic routes have 1 or 2 fewer flights on Saturdays, so that probably frees up an aircraft that can be used for these flights. Bill |

does B6 still have a gate to use in E for departures???? |
I don't think we ever had a gate in the E Terminal. However most of the gates are common use in the E Terminal, except for Northwest's 3 gates. I don't think it will be too much of an issue in getting a gate.

I think the flight would depart from C and arrive in E. All of US/AA/DL international flights depart from their base terminal and arrive in E |

Gate
The aircraft will indeed depart C and arrive E as CUN does not preclear customs. We do not have any gates at E anymore so we will use the common use gates that the intl carriers use.
